Refreshed

.......Ready to go! Here are a couple of cute pictures taken of Jake right after he woke up from his nap the other day. He is in such a great mood when he wakes up (so sweet as always)!

Jake has been practicing walking everyday, and keeps getting better and better! It has been a little bit challenging with the hardwood floors, so I have tried to get him out in the grass as much as possible too (weather permitting)! But his balance and confidence are strengthening every day, and he's doing great!!

Swinging

It almost felt like Spring a couple of days ago....so Jake and I went down to the park to enjoy the swings! We were trying to soak up the nice weather as much as possible before it got cold again :)

Wagon Ride

After being sick for what seemed like weeks and it being cold outside for even longer.....we are finally recovered and have had some nice days come our way to make things even better! So, we have been trying to get outside as much as possible....and have even taken Jake for a couple of wagon rides- which he absolutely loves!!

Walking!!

Jake started walking last night......and it was soooooo exciting!! Jason and I started out as usual, having him take steps back and forth to us. He got up to about 10 steps - and we were so happy! Then to add to the excitement, I started walking with him around the house holding his hands- and let go just to see what would happen.......


He is still trying to gain his confidence and get the whole balancing act down, but he did so great! You could feel the excitement in the air.....we were all so proud!! Great job Jake :)

Birthday Boy

Hope you all enjoyed the slideshow......I thought you might like to see some pictures taken on Jake's birthday as well. Jason made him a three flavored super decker birthday cake with chocolate icing! We kindly placed the entire cake in front of him so that he could enjoy it before we got our hands on it as well!













It has been another big month for Jake- lots of changing and growing. He is still very focused on learning to walk......and even took his first steps the day before his birthday!! So far he has taken about 3-4 steps on his own- he does this when I hold him out in front of me so that he takes steps back towards me or when Jason and I sit apart from each other and he takes steps back and forth to each of us. He gets sooo excited and is very proud of himself (as we are of him)!

He has also been fascinated by the concept of in and out.....he loves pulling things out and putting them back and taking them out again and putting them back in something else. He moves from one toy to the next, crawls all around the house, and pulls himself up to a standing position on almost anything. He is all over the place and having so much fun. We also switched him to cow's milk, which he is learning to drink from a cup. And he now gets to sit in his forward facing car seat when we are driving in the car, which he likes so much better. We go for his one year check up on the 11th, so we will find out his stats soon and will keep you posted!

Happy 1st Birthday

Today we celebrated Jake's 1st birthday!!
What an amazing year it has been for us.....
I couldn't think of a better way to express
how amazing it has been.....

Almost Walking

Jake is so close to walking- it should be any day! He is very, very interested in learning to walk. All he seems to want to do these days is practice. Have I already said that being sick hasn't really seemed to slow him down!

Happy New Year

Jake wanted to wish everyone a Happy New Year!! He is still a little sick, but definitely feeling much better. It hasn't seemed to slow him down any though- he is still all over the place. He even found his way into the closet yesterday! Hope you all have a great New Year!!
