The Fountains

I took Jake to the fountains at the Center City Park in Greensboro yesterday, where we enjoyed a picnic lunch. Jake loved playing in the puddles and running under the water archway. Here are some pictures I took of him playing in the puddles:

This was a great place to bring a toddler- Jake loved running through the water! Below are some pictures of Jason and Jake enjoying a popsicle the other night after dinner, just trying to stay cool in this hot weather we've been having:

I like cookies...

Above is a cute video I took of Jake and Jason singing a song they made up while they were eating cookies the other day. The only way I can figure out how to put videos up on the blog is to download them to youtube first. So, it might redirect you to watch other people's videos after ours is done.

Jake's Photos

Jake has become quite interested in taking photos of his own lately. Whenever I am taking pictures of him, he insists on me handing the camera over so he can take some pictures too. Here are some of the photos he has taken recently:

And here is a picture of me at 5 1/2 months pregnant:

So, Jason actually took the picture of my baby bump. But, Jake got his turn with the camera next and he snapped this photo of Jason:

4th of July

Jake had fun celebrating the 4th of July weekend with Nanny at the beach this year. It was a busy weekend, full of fun activities! Above are some pictures of us at the Arts & Craft Fair on Sunday. Below are some pictures of us enjoying the 4th of July festival on Monday. We had so much fun riding our bikes through the crowds of people and down the sides of the parade. Jake was so cute sitting on the back of Daddy's bike waving his flag the whole time:

And here are some pictures of us enjoying the beach later that day. We went at about 5 o'clock, which was nice b/c it wasn't so hot anymore! It was such a great trip, we had so much fun spending time with you Nanny, and can't wait for our next visit :)

Settling In

We have really been enjoying being back in NC. We are settling into our new routine and everything has been going great. We are staying at the house Jason remodeled when we first moved here, which is right down the street from Pops! I have been busy trying to get everything in its place and will soon start to put the nursery room together for the baby :)

Jake has been attending the Mother's Day Out program at First Presbyterian, which has been fantastic! He will start in the 2 yr. old preschool class in the fall. It has been a little hard for him when I drop him off, but by the time I go to pick him up he is so sad he has to leave! The 3 yr. old preschool teacher helps out with the MDO program in the summer and she couldn't believe that Jake wasn't 3 yet. She said he speaks clearer than alot of the 3 yr. olds in her class! Everyone is always remarking on his big vocabulary and how well he talks. So, with how smart he is coupled with how big he is- I can see why people are always thinking that he is older than he is!

Speaking of age, Jake is going to turn 2 1/2 on the 4th of July. And, he is really growing up! Above is a picture of him in his new big boy race car bed, which he started sleeping in when we moved back to NC. He loves this bed! Another big event for Jake, is that he is now completely potty-trained. And, he absolutely loves wearing his big boy undies! It is amazing how much he has grown up just in the past 2 months that we have been back. He is such a big boy now and we are so proud of him!
