Six Months Old
Look at this little six month old! Or shall I say, Big Six Month Old?!
Look how well she is sitting up now! She is very close to sitting up unsupported on the floor. She actually has already done this for brief moments and is getting stronger/more balanced every day. She is rolling over both ways very well and will almost always roll right over to her tummy when you lay her down on her back. She seems very interested in trying to figure out how to crawl. She watches her brother running around all day, and she is ready to go too! So, I wouldn't be surprised if she figures out this whole crawling thing soon.
Lucy continues to be a happy-go-lucky baby, always smiling and laughing. She is generally very easy-going, but sometimes gets fussy when hungry, lonely, or tired (but don't we all)! She is very vocal too (just like her brother), so she lets you know when she needs you!! She is a mama's girl if there ever was one. She gives me the biggest smiles when I walk into the room and prefers mainly to be held by me, but really favors her daddy and brother as well (and she saves some really big smiles for them too)!!
These days you will usually find Lucy bouncing around in her exersaucer, rolling on her play mat, strolling around in the baby carrier or stroller, and of course in her favorite place of all...our arms :) Oh, and I can't forget to mention that Lucy moved out of the bassinet in our room and into the crib in her own room this past month. She has done well with the transition, but it seems like she has been waking up more in the night these past two months than she did in the first four months. Maybe it's teething or maybe it's that she is more active and trying to practice her new skills?! At least it's the second time around and I'm equipped with the knowledge that this will pass and one day I will be getting sleep again!!
Lucy- the past six months have been so amazing with you in our lives. It's hard to believe that half a year ago, you weren't with us yet. Because now, we can't imagine our family life any other way! You are truly, the most special little girl. You always make people smile and light up everyone's day! We love you so much Lucy girl and can't wait to see what the next six months have in store for us :)
