Galveston

OK, I am finally getting around to posting the pictures of us once we arrived in Galveston (it took us a couple of days to recover from the drive back!). We stayed in some really nice condos at Pointe West (August 17th- 21st) with Jake's Nana and Papa, Aunts and Uncles, and Cousins. We had such a great time- here are some pictures of Jake enjoying the pool that overlooked the ocean:

And of course he got some quality time with Nana and Papa also!






We had such a great time at the summer get together in Galveston, but the trip wouldn't have been complete without a visit with Jake's Great Grandparents! Once we left the beach, we stopped in Houston so that Jake could see his Great Grandmother Kelso and then we drove on to Kerrville so that he could see his Great Grandparents West before heading back home.

We really enjoyed our visits with everyone and wish we could have stayed longer. But for now, we will just look forward to next time!

Drive to Texas

We left for our trip to Texas on Saturday, August 15th and made it to Galveston on Monday, August 17th. Here are some pictures we took along the way. We stopped in Auburn, AL on Saturday night and Baton Rouge, LA on Sunday night- but took a 3 hour detour in New Orleans so that Jake could enjoy some Beignets! I'll post some more pictures tomorrow from our time in Galveston and Jake's visits with his Great Grandparents before returning home. Such a great trip!

Getting Ready

We have been busy getting ready for the big trip we are about to take to Texas. We will be on the road for the next couple of days and will arrive for the Galveston get together on Monday. Jake can't wait to see his Cousins, Aunts/Uncles, Grandparents, and Great Grandparents! Here he is helping me pack today (these pictures aren't the clearest, but at least you get to see how Jake has been sitting up more these days!) :

Pool Time

Jake first enjoyed splashing his feet in a pool at his cousin's house when we went to Kentucky. He loved it so much we decided to fill up a baby pool in the front yard this past weekend. At first we were just going to dip his feet in b/c the water seemed a little cool, but he enjoyed it so much he ended up getting all the way in- clothes on and all:

Walker

Lona outgrew her walker, so she let Jake borrow it until she has a sibling come along who will need it too. Here are some pictures of Jake enjoying it. Thanks Lona!

Blocks

Here is Jake in his high chair playing with his blocks. He all of the sudden seems like a little boy instead of a baby:

Play Date

Jake's friend Lona came over yesterday to play. We have been busy putting Jake's play room together -which isn't quite finished yet, but we decided to break it in anyways! Lona brought over her guitar to show Jake how to play. Jake also shared some of his toys with Lona and they had so much fun. If you didn't get a clear picture of how big he is before, now you can see it for yourself. Lona turned one year old on June 15th and Jake will just be 7 months old tomorrow! Check out these pics- they are almost the same height! (I think this is why it has taken him a little longer to sit up, there is just so much of him to balance) !!
