Nanny's Corn

We always get the best corn from the garden in Kentucky. We store it in our freezer so we can enjoy it year round. Looks like Jake enjoys it as much as we do. I guess we will have to stock up on some more this coming season!

Kentucky Trip

We just got back from a trip to Kentucky- Jake wanted to get a good visit in with his Nanny since our Christmas trip was cut short when he got so sick. We had so much fun during this visit- it more than made up for last time!


Jason was working under the house for a couple of days during our visit and Jake decided he wanted to do some work also. Jake pretty much carried around a mop or a broom the whole time we were there (he is really in to pulling things around these days!) :


We had fun taking Jake down to the barn lot so that he could see the animals. You can see the train that was going by in the background while we were there:



Jake had alot of fun walking around outside of his Nanny's house also- he loved when he stumbled upon this bird house:

Sunset

Here we are enjoying the sunset last weekend (we were in Kentucky this weekend- I will post some pictures from that trip next). Last weekend however, we went to this soccer field at one of the schools here so that we could fly this remote control airplane that Jason has (I have to say I did a pretty good job for my first try!) Here is a picture of Jason after he took it up:

World's Strongest Kid

If you didn't know how strong Jake is, now you can see it for yourself. Here he is pulling the wagon around the yard. And if you're thinking "poor kid, they make him pull his wagon by himself", this is not the case- he gets upset when we take it away from him!





It is so cute when he pulls this wagon around- he digs his feet into the ground and has this look of determination on his face. This wagon is very heavy though, so his Pops found him a smaller version that is more his size. He has started pulling that one around the house- I will have to get some pictures because it is also very cute!

The Sun always shines on the COOL people...............

Toddler

I read that once a baby starts walking, he is considered a toddler. Well, Jake is certainly walking around these days and doing it quite well I might add- so I guess we can officially call him a toddler. And this toddler just turned another month older (14 months) this past week.



Some of the new things he has been doing this past month:
-goes from a sitting position to standing up without pulling up on anything
-starting to use his fork and spoon to feed himself
-goes to look for an object when you ask (where's your ball, where's the kitty cat, etc.)
-dancing to music, stomping around
-walking up and down stairs with assistance, climbing stairs
-giggling at himself in the mirror, as seen below:



He has also just started to point to objects that he knows the label to when we are looking at his books (where's the doggie, point to the doggie). Now that his walking skills have really taken off, he goes from room to room throughout the house. You can find him almost anywhere......




We have been having so much fun with our little toddler! And now that the weather is starting to get a little bit nicer.......we can't wait for all the fun that is in store for us this Spring!!
