Back in NC

Now that we're back in NC, I couldn't resist taking Jake to the zoo again! And the great thing is, I found out that our membership hasn't expired yet. Jake is such a great age for this now- he really enjoyed watching all the animals. I didn't actually get any pictures of him with the animals though b/c I figured his back would be turned in all of them. Here are some cute ones that I did take:

Driving back to NC

We have made it back to NC and are starting to get settled in! Here are some pictures from our trip back home (we didn't take many), but I thought I would put up some for you to enjoy:




Our last stop was for a weekend visit with Nanny (who we hadn't seen in 7 months)! Jake loved going down to the barn lot and getting to feed the goats and the hog while we were there. And, he absolutely loved getting to spend time with his Nanny again.

On The Road Again

As most of you know by now, we are headed back to NC! Here Jake is helping us get ready for the big move. After days of packing, we are finally ready to head out of here tomorrow. It has been a great adventure for us in California, but it will be so nice to be closer to family again!

Our Little Artist

Jake is such an amazing little artist. His teachers and other parents always comment on how long he stays with it when he is painting (since most of the other kids paint a couple of lines and then move on to the next activity). Since Jake showed such an interest in painting at school, we bought him a bunch of art supplies for home. Here he is painting away on the first day we got them:




It is so fun to watch him paint and see what he does with his brush strokes! Just had to showcase some of his work, which we think is pretty amazing for a two year old. I guess lefties really are more artistic:





The pictures of Jake painting were actually taken right after the Mardi Gras pictures. I will try to get some more recent pictures up soon. Sorry it has been so long since my last blog. As most of you know by now, we are expecting another little one in November! I have been feeling pretty sick the last month, but I believe I am almost in the clear :) We are very, very excited! How could you resist having another little one like this? Jake will be such a great big brother!!

Mardi Gras

Our town held some weekend festivities for Mardi Gras this past weekend. So, we took Jake to the parade on Sunday. It was raining, but we still had a lot of fun! Jake was a little tired (as you can tell in the pictures) since the parade didn't start until his usual nap time. He seemed to really enjoy it though (and doesn't his haircut look so cute!):

World's Biggest Snowman

These pictures were actually taken the same morning as the pictures I posted in the last blog. It is amazing how quickly the snow melted when the sun came out. But before it was completely gone, Jason and Jake had fun making the World's Biggest Snowman:

It was a great morning enjoying the snow. A little different than this past weekend's snowstorm that brought a 3 day power outage along with it!



Here are some pictures of Jason and Jake sledding down the hill during the power outage this past weekend. It was a little harder getting out in the snow this time, knowing that you couldn't go in and take a hot shower afterward! Good thing Jason didn't seem to mind, because Jake loved that he took him sledding for the first time:






The snow was a lot of fun, but we're kind of hoping it's done for the season! It is so nice to have the power back on!!
