Big Boy
Jake slept 10 hours last night! As some of you know, sleeping through the night hasn't really been Jake's thing...but he has been doing it more and more lately- which makes us very happy :) Also, he sat up for a couple of minutes today without any support....it was so exciting! Good job Jake!! Here is a picture of him hanging out on the couch the other day. Just to give you an idea of how big he is..... he wears 9-12 month clothes now and he will be 7 months old on Aug. 4th. We love our Big Boy:

Almost Sitting
Jake has been practicing sitting every day and is so close!! He is able to sit up by himself now for about 10-20 seconds! When he realizes he is sitting without support though, he topples backwards and is happy his mommy is there to catch him!

Hike
Here we are on a hike this past weekend at Birkhead Mountain about 15 minutes from our house. The weather has been so nice here lately, mostly in the 80s and much cooler than last summer....which has made it nice to get outdoors. Jake loves taking in all the sites when we go outside. He has been babbling and making all kinds of motor boat sounds and other noises lately. He has been practicing sitting up on his own, which he gets for a few seconds before toppling over or catching himself with his arms in front. At his 6 month check up, he was still in the 80th percentile for height and weight- so he's a big boy! And his doctor noted how he doesn't have stranger anxiety yet. Maybe he will just skip that stage all together because he really does seem to love being around people. Also, he has been laughing alot lately, which of course makes us laugh too :)

Visit with Nanny
We just got back from a nice visit with Jason's mom in Kentucky! Johns Creek had its biggest flood ever the last time we were there during Mother's Day weekend, so we didn't get a good chance to visit. Jake wanted to go back this past weekend so he could get some quality time with his Nanny. Here are some pictures from our visit:

4th of July
Jake got to enjoy his first 4th of July and half birthday all in one day! Jason had a 4th of July sale down at the shop this past weekend. Jake and I went to help out and had a lot of fun. Jake wanted to wear the t-shirt his Pops gave him for turning 6 months old. Here are some funny pictures we took while we were there:

Here is Jason hard at work:

And Jake sacked out after all the fun:

Then enjoying the fireworks later that night:

Good times for all !!!

6 Months: In Review
We can hardly believe half a year has already gone by......The 4th of July will mark Jake's first 6 months in this wonderful world! Some of the precious moments that we have enjoyed so far have been: his smiles, when he laughed for the first time, the coos and babbles, when he has rolled over (both ways now), pushed up, and sat up propped by his arms. It has been truly amazing watching him experience these developmental milestones for the first time. We look forward to what is to come in the next 6 months. Here are some pictures that show his progression and growth since he was born:
