Words

In my last post I wrote that Jake can say about 30-40 words now. Well, I was way off! I started writing down all the words that he knows and can say.......and the list is at 91 words so far! I am sure there are more that I haven't even thought of yet. I knew the little guy liked to talk, but I just didn't realize how many words he already knew until I started writing them all down! Well, I know one thing for sure.....he's too cute for words:

Ok, so now you can see it for yourself. Jake absolutely loves to pretend that he's driving! Here's an old dune buggy that Jason is fixing up, notice who's behind the wheel:

Train Ride

Jake got to take the train last week to go visit his Nana and Papa at his Aunt Jennifer's house! I didn't get any pictures of that train ride, but in the pictures above he is waiting with his cousins for the train we took to the Discovery Center on the last day of our trip.

Jake had so much fun playing with his cousins and getting to see his Nana and Papa. The girls had a little toy vacuum cleaner that Jake had fun pushing around while we were there. He also loved to play with all of the different kinds of balls they had. He even knocked a few off the tee when his Nana was showing him how to play tee-ball. It was a great time, Jake loved being around other kids, and he misses his Nana and Papa already!

Jake turned 19 months old today. Where does the time go? How has it already been a month since he turned a year and a half old? Jake is talking up a storm! He will carry on full conversations, not that we can understand everything yet, but he certainly can and that is all that matters! He is saying a ton of words now that we can understand though. It seems like he knows at least 30-40 words. But I am sure there are a bunch more he is saying that we just can't make out quite yet.

Jake is the smartest little kid. He is still doing everything left handed. He has pretty much perfected feeding himself with a fork and spoon, although he has been a pickier eater recently. His favorite thing to do right now is to "drive" the car or truck. When we are playing outside, he almost always goes over to the car and practically begs for me to let him in, so that he can sit in the driver's seat and pretend he's driving! Jake is so full of joy, he is such a happy kid, and he makes us smile every day!

Beach Trips

Jake had so much fun visiting with his Nanny down at the beach recently. We went back and forth to see her a couple of times during her nice long two week stay! Here we are enjoying the intracoastal waterway near our place:

Jake also had fun playing around the house. He even got to enjoy a fudgesicle one night, thanks to his Nanny!

Jason worked a bunch during our first trip there. And Jake helped:

We enjoyed many bike rides while we were there too. We would ride through the neighborhood or down to the boat dock to dip in the water or catch some sunsets. It was such a nice trip!

We miss you already Nanny- thanks for everything!

Front Page

Jake made the front page of our local newspaper on July 15th! His Pops was swinging him at the park and a photographer with the newspaper snapped several pictures of them. Here is the picture that was in the paper:

This is the link to see the actual clip that was in the newspaper:

It was so neat- the clip was huge in the paper and right in the middle of the front page!

Sorry I haven't posted any new pictures lately, we have been back and forth to the beach visiting with Jake's Nanny. I will be posting pictures from those trips soon!

Another Milestone

Well, Jake just turned 1 1/2 yrs old on the 4th of July! Wow- he is growing up so fast. It was a little hot that day, so we escaped to the mall where Jake likes to run around in the play area:

Look, 1 1/2 and he already knows how to drive. Jake loves to get in our cars or sit on anything that runs and act like he is driving! It is really cute- he imitates the motor sound with his mouth:

Here he is being measured afterward (he has already grown a couple of inches since his 1st birthday!) :

And here he is later that night doing a "potty dance" in his crib because he was so excited that he had used his new potty seat! We recently started potty training and I have to say that Jake is doing a great job- we are so proud of him!

And here are some more cute pictures taken of him the next day:

Hope everyone had a great 4th of July weekend!
