School Begins
Today was the first day of school for Jake. He is the big boy on campus this year. That's right....this is his last year of preschool (and I can hardly believe it)! Here are some pictures we took today:
At Jake's preschool, the younger classes get out a little earlier while the big kids are still playing outside. I always watched the "big kids" running around the playground while I waited in the car pick up line, thinking about how one day Jake would be one of those kiddos. And now the time has come....Jake is officially one of the "big kids"! Since I arrived a little early to get him this morning, I couldn't resist snapping some pictures of him out there:
We hope you have an awesome last year of preschool Jake! We love you buddy!!

Tae Kwon Do
Jake started Tae Kwon Do this summer and has really been enjoying it! This is right up his alley...he gets to kick, punch, and yell. He couldn't ask for anything better! Here are some pictures from his first two belt ceremonies:
Here he is in action:
I can see Jake working all the way towards his black belt. He really has loved it! I am glad we found something that is such a great fit for him.
Jake has had a really great summer. He turned 4 1/2 and just seems to keep getting bigger and bigger. Here are the stats from his 4 yr old check up last week:
Weight: 44 lbs (80%)
Height: 44.5 in (95%)
BMI: (50%)
Jake had fun with his friends at Mother's Day Out this summer. He loved going to the beach and became a lot more interested in learning to swim. He tried out his mask/snorkel a bunch and had a blast. He also rode his bike and dune buggy a lot this summer. We went to the zoo and the children's museum, as well as the new aquarium! Pretty much tried to pack it all in before he starts going to school 5 days a week for the first time. I think he is going to love it though. He is so intelligent and social, that I think he will really enjoy getting more time at school this year!
We love you buddy and are so proud of you each and every day!!

Happy 4th!
I told Jake and Lucy they could stay up for the fireworks show we would be able to see from our backyard. Here they are playing and setting up their viewing spot:
Since it would still be a little while before we could see the fireworks, we decided to put on a little show of our own:
Jake could not have loved that anymore! Oh, and I can't forget to add Lucy's picture...
She made the online newspaper for the Greensboro News & Record for a picture that was taken while we attended the Fun Fourth festival this morning:
Such a great day! Hope you all have had a wonderful 4th!!

Jake & Lucy
Jake & Lucy are too cute together. They are really sweet to each other for the most part and have a very close bond! Here they are singing & dancing in the rain...
