Happy Halloween!!

I can't believe it is already Halloween time again. It seems like just yesterday that we took Jake trick-or-treating in that really neat historic district of Nevada City, where we were at in California. This year wasn't quite as big and spectacular, but it was really special b/c Jake is now at a great age to really know what is going on!

For the past two months, Jake has been talking about how he wanted to be a bear for Halloween. I searched in a couple different costume shops and couldn't find anything. I finally found this costume online and he really loved it b/c it has the claws he wanted. He said he was a "grizzly" bear (as you can tell from the pictures above where he is attacking Jason)!

Jake had a really great time trick-or-treating tonight and everyone thought he was so cute in his little bear costume. Now it's time for us to change the focus to our big day that is approaching very quickly. Only two more days until the baby is here! Nana and Papa have made it to town and we have everything in place, washed, and ready to go. Now we just...wait!!

Fall Leaves

It has been so beautiful around here lately with all of the leaves changing colors and falling off the trees. Fall has always been my favorite time of the year! Here are some pictures of Jason and Jake playing in a pile of leaves just the other day:

And here are some pictures taken Friday night right after Jason and Jake carved the two pumpkins we brought back from Kentucky. It was starting to drizzle, so the pictures are a little fuzzy- but here is Jake sitting in between our jack-o'-lanterns:

And lastly, here are a few pictures taken of me (one week before our big delivery date!) :

And of course, I had to include the one that Jake took:

State Fair

We took Jake to the State Fair this past weekend and we all had a great time. Jake loved getting to go on all the rides:

This hot air balloon ride was his favorite b/c he got to go up in the air. We didn't realize it was going to do that (and were very glad it didn't scare him)! He was actually laughing practically the whole time:

And of course, I had to add the pictures of Jason and Jake being silly:

It was a great time and we will definitely head back there again next year!

Hike with Dad

Jason took Jake on a hike during one of my doctor's appointments the other day. Jake was very excited when he was told he was going to get to climb some rocks. Here are some pictures from their outing:

Fall Festival

All the festivals and fairs come to NC in October. Here are some pictures of Jake enjoying the Fall Festival in our town this past weekend. We started with the parade on Friday night, which Jake enjoyed b/c he got to see the fire truck and they threw out candy. And he loved all the bouncy rides at the festival, here he is on the big slide:

We had taken him to a fair in Greensboro the weekend before where he rode the kiddie train and car rides for the first time. He was scared to go on the carousel ride when we were out in California, so I thought he might not like these rides yet. But this time he had no fear (and actually kept asking if he could go again)! Here he is on one of the car rides at the festival. At first he was sitting in the front, but the steering wheel wouldn't turn (which is what he really wanted to be able to do)...so he hopped to the back:

We had a really good time throughout the weekend, so I think we will take him to the State Fair in a couple of weeks!

Pumpkins

We had a short (but sweet) visit with Nanny over the weekend in Kentucky. Jake had tons of fun getting to feed the animals in the barn lot and picking eggs right out of the nest in the chicken coop. But his favorite thing of all was getting to ride in the golf cart to help his Aunt Georgia and Uncle Ernest pick pumpkins from the garden! Here are some pictures of Jake helping to unload the pumpkins back at their house:

After we were finished, Jake found out that we were going to get to take a couple of pumpkins home with us. Above is a picture of Jake taking one over to our car- look at him carrying it all by himself! Once we were back at Nanny's house, Jake got to help Daddy turn one of our pumpkins into a jack-o'-lantern:

Once the sun started to go down, Jason showed Jake how to make the jack-o'-lantern glow:

We had a great time picking and carving the pumpkins during our visit in Kentucky. It really made us feel like Fall is here and that Halloween is right around the corner. Which means that it is not too much longer before the baby is here too! Here I am at about 34 weeks pregnant in the picture I am in below with Jake and Nanny. And the last two pictures are ones that our little photographer Jake took:

Jake went for his 2 yr old well child check-up a couple of days before we left for Kentucky. Just wanted to include his stats-

Weight: 34 lbs (95%)
Height: 38.75 in (95%)
BMI: (50%)

Jake is still growing like a weed! He continues to be in the 95th percentile for height and weight. And the doctor said his BMI is perfect!

Cooler Weather

It was a little chilly over the weekend due to a cold front that came through. So- I decided to take Jake to the zoo on Friday, which was nice because it wasn't too hot! They have a really great play area for kids there, which Jake loves. I managed to get some pictures of him running around and having fun that day:

Jake had a great time that day. He loved getting to wear his little hoodie jacket and the new shoes I got him for school. In fact, I don't think he has really taken off his shoes since we got them!
